My Priorities for a Thriving Subdistrict 1

Groundwater and water supply
Managing groundwater and surface water to ensure a reliable, safe, and sustainable water supply for residents, agriculture, and communities. This directly helps homeowners and farmers avoid costly well issues, protects drinking water, and supports long-term agricultural productivity.

Flood control and drainage
Reducing flood risk and managing drainage systems to protect homes, land, roads, and infrastructure from water damage. This protects land, homes, roads, and infrastructure from damage, reducing unexpected repair costs and disruptions for residents in Subdistrict 1.

Soil conservation and erosion control
Preventing soil loss and land degradation to protect property, maintain productive land, and reduce runoff into waterways. This preserves productive farmland, protects property, and improves water quality for those relying on wells throughout the subdistrict.

Recreation and natural resources
Maintaining lakes, parks, and natural areas for public use while supporting long-term environmental health and habitat. This protects local resources to support outdoor recreation and maintain quality of life for residents.
My approach and philosophy
My approach starts with listening to the people who live and work in this district. Homeowners, farmers, and landowners see the day-to-day impact of water levels, soil conditions, and weather patterns, and those real-world experiences should help guide decisions. I believe in taking a practical, informed approach by combining local input with research, monitoring, and long-term planning.
